Qualification & Testing for FCI Certification

QUALIFICATIONS FOR FCI

The Florida Certified Investigator (FCI) has demonstrated to a committee of his peers that his/her credentials are deserving of the FCI certification.

Qualifications include:

1.   A minimum three years of experience  supported by:

a.       Documentation confirming a minimum of three (3) years of licensed investigative experience including not less than one (1) year as a Florida licensed Class C or CC private investigator, or in place thereof,

 

b.       Documentation confirming not less than three (3) continuous years of similar duties as a full time investigative employee of an attorney, insurance company or law enforcement agency, whose position was exempted from Florida private investigative licensure, or in place thereof,

 

c.       Documentation confirming not less than three (3) continuous years of similar duties as approved by the FBCI Board. 

2.   A thorough knowledge of general investigative techniques, statutory issues and legal 

      issues, exhibited through the passing of a proctored examination

3.   Three letters of recommendation from clients and/or investigative professionals

The FBCI offers Proctor Sites around the state of Florida.

1. The FBCI participates in the Florida Annual Licensed Investigators Conference with an exhibit table and sponsored reception.
  • A proctored exam is always scheduled for that event.
  • New FCI's are recognized at the FCI Reception and Awards Ceremony.
  • View FCI Exam Dates & Locations with LINK in the information box at the right. 

    2. The Division of Licencing, (PIRSAC) Private Investigation, Recovery, & Security Advisory Council Meetings are scheduled quarterly around the state.
  • A proctored exam may be scheduled for any of these locations following the conclusion of the PIRSAC Meetings, usually at noon.

    3. An FCI applicant may now have the option to schedule their proctored certification exam at a City College Campus location in their area.
